As a Home Physical Therapist I have visited many homes. I have not observed a home that is so well laid our as the home I currently work in designed by Golden Age Services & Silver Ridge Homes. The home is not only beautiful but functional as well. The placement of furnishings and belongings are very conducive to easy management, cleaning and safety in the home. They thought of every detail to accommodate the aging population. All the doorways and hallways as well as the kitchen and bathrooms can accommodate a wheelchair or a walker. There is lots of cabinet space for all the treasures that have been collected through the years, cutting down on clutter. The master bathroom is spacious and is equipped with a taller commode, which is a plus if you've had a total hip replacement. the shower is very large with no lip or step to negotiate making it easy for a wheelchair to just roll in if necessary. It is also equipped with appropriately placed grab bars for added safety. I am very much impressed and would highly recommend Golden Age Services for designing / optimizing a home to inure ease of care and safety for the elderly. Jan T. Norman, MPT
February 15, 2005 Gary and Jeanne Nichols Dear Gary and Jeanne: I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to see an optimized home, thank you for giving me the grand tour! The attention to detail is obvious. Of particular note were the hallways, higher toilets and the arthritis friendly faucet handles and door levers. My favorite items, however, would be the easy-to reach tub faucet handles and the sweep vent in the kitchen. The Morongo basin is so fortunate to have you here advocating for our seniors and becoming involved in our community. I look forward to working with you on various projects in the future.
